About Us
Director, Chairman - Jerry D. Jordan
Most recently Mr. Jordan served as Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA), the national trade
association representing independent oil & gas producers. He is also a member of the National Petroleum Council, the Natural
Gas Council, and a Director of the Mountain States Legal Foundation. He is a Past President of the Ohio Oil & Gas Association
and former member of the Gas Industry Standards Board.
Mr. Jordan has served as Ohio’s Representative to the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commissions, and Chairman of the
Governor’s Committee of Self-help Natural Gas, during the gas shortages of the seventies. He holds a BS degree in Geology
from Denison University and a JD degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He also served as an Adjunct
Professor of Law at Capital Law School from 1987 through 1991.
Director, President - Mark D. Jordan
Before forming Knox Energy, Mr. Jordan was employed by CGAS Exploration, Inc., a Columbus, Ohio publicly owned natural
gas producer and marketer. Mr. Jordan held various positions in his 14 years at CGAS, including Vice President of Gas
Marketing, and Vice President of Land. Mr. Jordan started with CGAS as a Drilling Supervisor. Mr. Jordan holds a BS Degree
in Business from Mars Hill College in North Carolina and a Petroleum Technology Degree from Seminole College in Oklahoma.
He is a member of the Ohio Oil & Gas Association as well as a Trustee.
Director, Vice President, Field Operations - Bill Mitton
Before joining Knox in 1999, Mr. Mitton served as a drilling and operations supervisor for CGAS Exploration, Inc., where he
was employed for 20 years. He is a member of the Ohio Oil & Gas Association.
Chief Financial Officer - Steve Schultheis
Mr. Schultheis has over 24 years of oil and gas accounting experience. Prior to joining Knox in 2005 Mr. Schultheis was
controller for CGAS Exploration. He has a B.A. from Capital University and was a member of the Petroleum Accountants
Society of Appalachia. He is a member of Ohio Oil and Gas Association.
Corporate Secretary - Teresa M. Jonas
Ms. Jonas has worked in the Oil and Gas industry since 1989. Prior to joining Knox Energy in 2001, Ms. Jonas worked for
CGAS Exploration and Absolute Energy. She is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association.
Exploration Manager –Mark A. Neese
Mr. Neese has been exploring for oil and gas in the Appalachian and Michigan basins for the past 30 years. After obtaining a
geology degree from Wittenberg University in 1978, he began his career in Michigan with Stocker & Sitler, Inc. during the oil
and gas boom of the early ‘80s, and then transferred to Ohio at the onset of Rose Run exploration play. Prior to joining Knox
Energy in 2003, Mr. Neese worked as a consulting geologist for clients in Ohio and Michigan. He is a member of AAPG,
SPWLA, the Ohio Geological Society, and the Ohio Oil and Gas Association.
Geologist – Nicole Venteris
Ms. Venteris has worked in the Oil and Gas industry for the past 12 years. She has a B.S. in Geology and Geography from
Western Illinois University. She began her career as an intern of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and then as a
Geologist for 7years at CGAS Exploration. She joined Knox’s team in 2004 and specializes in GIS with an emphasis in
cartography and database administration. She is a Past President of The Ohio Geological Society and currently serves as
Trustee. She is also a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association and American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
